In warm weather one can find sun or shade in hammocks or on swings, at picnic tables or chairs. Birds and squirrels find a sanctuary in the many trees, both coniferous and deciduous. It is a haven for small creatures and people alike.
This 3 tiered fountain splashes playfully while the small creatures enjoy drinking or playing in the fountain. Last summer, a beautiful pair of hawks found the running water their favorite place to be.
A great place to sit and enjoy the cool breeze while reading or chatting with another retreatants.
Many windows look out on the expansive back yard of John XXIII Center. From left to right down stairs is: the sun porch dining room, the family dining room, chapel and Fr. Hosey's bed room window.
